Variety have since revised their story, removing all mention of Reznor and Ross‘ apparent involvement in the film. No additional info was provided as to why the story was revised.

Nine Inch Nails‘ core duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will once again be putting their talents to use for film. The pair are preparing an original score for the upcoming film ‘Waves‘, which in addition to their score, will also feature contemporary songs from other artists as well. Interestingly, music is expected to play a big part in how the film is edited.
Trey Edward Shults will be directing the feature, which according to Variety, ‘follows two young couples as they navigate the emotional minefield of growing up and falling in love.’ Nine Inch Nails themselves just recently completed a trio of new releases with their latest effort, “Bad Witch“.
