The Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer played a cover of the late Tom Petty‘s “A Face In The Crowd” during their October 07th performance at the ‘Austin City Limits Music Festival‘ in Austin, TX over the weekend. Petty of course passed away last week at the age of 66-years-old. The Red Hot Chili Peppers also dedicated a cover of Funkadelic‘s “What Is Soul?” to Petty earlier that night.

Around a decade ago, many accused the Red Hot Chili Peppers of ripping off Petty‘s “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” with their song “Dani California“. Thankfully for the Chili Peppers, Petty was very relaxed on the allegations.
