Though they have remained secretive regarding the identities of any of the candidates from their open audition process, Stone Temple Pilots, have confirmed that they are working on new music with an as-yet unannounced singer. Bassist Robert DeLeo recently told Rollingstone.com:
“We’ve been working with someone – I don’t want to name names yet – and we’re making music. I don’t know if he’s well-known or unknown; I don’t look at him as ‘well-known.’ But we’re writing music and we’re hopefully looking at finishing a record and putting it out soon.”
Both of the band’s previous frontmen, Scott Weiland and Chester Bennington (also of Linkin Park,) have sadly since passed away. In other news, the band’s ahem, ‘core’ lineup, also gave the aforementioned site a track by track rundown of their 1992 debut album “Core“, which will receive a deluxe 25th anniversary reissue tomorrow, September 29th. You can read that feature here.
