Though Megadeth have been eligible for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for a number of years now, they’ve yet to get the nod. Likewise, the band are currently on their twelfth Grammy nod (“Dystopia” is up for Best Metal Performance) but have yet to take home an award.
Band vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine recently shared his thoughts regarding that with a fan on Twitter and seems to think that the apparent snub on the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame may be intentional:
I think that the @rockhall is opposed to me being in there. It is one of my bucket list items: The R&R HOF and my Grammy. https://t.co/eUhrchcEq8

Mustaine later told a fan though he wasn’t officially inducted when Metallica made it in back in 2009, he still feels that he has been inducted in a way due to his early contributions to the band:
Thank you. I just wish that both of those boards felt the same way that you do. I am in there bcuz of Met in a way. But I'd like Megs to go! https://t.co/mvzIVFR5b0
