King 810 vocalist David Gunn and bassist Eugene Gill made headlines when they were detained earlier this year for assault charges regarding a violent altercation with a man in Flint, MI last October. Vocalist David Gunn‘s charges were dismissed this past June and now Eugene Gill is also in the clear.
A report over at mlive.com has word that the Gill‘s assault with intent to do harm less than murder charge has been dismissed as a result of new evidence. According to the report, new witnesses were located who stated that the victim was the instigator of the fight. Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton was quoted as saying:
“After reviewing additional witness statements, we’re not really sure what happened that night. Justice is best served by a dismissal of the charges. There were just too many conflicting accounts.”
The news is likely a relief to Gill as he was due to face trial on the charges on October 07th, but was given a brief delay in order to evaluate the new evidence which led to the dismissal.
