Burzum‘s Varg Vikernes has been ordered to serve a six-month suspended sentence and pay a fine of €8,000 euros (roughly $10,888 USD) along with additional costs after having been found guilty of “inciting racial hatred” & “exalting war crimes” in France. Neither Vikernes nor his lawyer were present in court when the verdict was read. Those charges stem from posts he allegedly made on the blog, Thuleanperspective.com.
Throughout the trial Vikernes denied that he wrote any of the offending entries which targeted Muslims and Jews and exalted war crimes. He has thus far refused to comment on the verdict though previously expressed interest in appealing if found guilty.
