The 2014 ‘Revolver Golden Gods Awards‘ have officially been announced. The awards ceremony will be held at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA on April 23rd. Among those set to perform at the ceremony are:
Guns N’ Roses
Korn
A Day To Remember
Zakk Wylde
Joan Jett And The Blackhearts
The Pretty Reckless
Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose will also receive the ‘Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement‘ award at the ceremony. Meanwhile, Joan Jett will be honored with the ‘Golden God Award‘. Confirmed appearances thus far include Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction), Ace Frehley (ex-Kiss), Chino Moreno (Deftones, etc.), Scott Ian (Anthrax), Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed) and Orianthi. As per usual various collaborations with surprise guests will also be taking place.
This years spate of awards will find the ‘Best Guitarist’ award renamed the ‘Dimebag Darrell Best Guitarist(s)‘—a decision which Darrell‘s brother Vinnie Paul (of HELLYEAH) approves of:
“I am very honored that Revolver is renaming the Best Guitarist Award after Dime! He was and always will be what heavy-metal guitar playing is all about. This award is given to the person with those special skills that sets them apart from others. Dime always went for it and I know he would be proud of the winner of this award. So go for it and may the best shredder win! GETCHA PULL!!”
Tickets will be made available Friday, February 28th at this location. Broadcasting details of the event are currently being finalized and will be announced soon.
