Rosetta have announced that their new full-length album “The Anaesthete” will be released digitally on August 08th as part of a pay-what-you-wish pricing plan. The band will be tracking the outing at Studio G Brooklyn from July 01st-11th with Andrew Schneider (Cave In, Unsane).

Vinyl formats are planned to be handled by various labels in territories outside North America with the band themselves hoping to use funds from the digital release to eventually issue a proper vinyl release domestically. According to the band:

“The album is being financed entirely by the band personally. The revenue from the digital download goes 100% back to helping us recoup that cost, and then toward pressing the North American vinyl. This is a big risk for us, but we feel that our listeners are a trustworthy bunch on the whole. Moreover, we want to find out whether releasing music completely independently is a sustainable way for a small band to operate. You get to decide what the album is worth to you, and pay that amount.”

Furthermore, the band will finish out their contract with Translation Loss in early 2014 with the release of a new EP which has already been recorded.
