Make Them Suffer have announced the apparent firing of their vocalist/keyboardist Booka Nile in the wake allegations of her sexual assaulting an unidentified male several years back. The Australian metalcore outfit issued a statement issued earlier today (February 24th) outlining her dismissal from the band.

The allegations in question include the below posts on social media, which include excerpts of a conversation allegedly conducted by Nile:

Nile, who more recently spent time on the ‘Married At First Sight‘ reality show in her native Australia, has since defended herself publicly via Instagram comments, denying the allegation. She asserted that the excerpts of the conversation shared didn’t paint the full picture and that the sex was consensual, stating at “no point did he say no.”

Nile also further stated that she had “never been accused of sexual assault by any man or woman ever in my life” and that the alleged apprehension expressed by the male in the excerpt was because he was best friends with an ex of Nile‘s. According to Nile‘s comments, the individual was already putting on a condom at the time of his comment.

You can see a collection of her responses regarding the matter here. Responding to her presumed dismissal from the band, Nile commented via her Instagram:

“It’s been real y’all. I’m excited for the next chapter and to see what adventures come next thanks for the memories @makethemsuffer”

Update: February, 24th, 2022 10:16 AM:

Nile has since stated that she’ll be issuing a proper statement regarding the matter soon:

“My DMs are overflowing right now with people asking me why I’ve left Make Them Suffer. I know you haven’t been given a proper explanation so I just want to say that I will release a proper statement and explanation over the next week or so. I’m super busy and exhausted from my crazy work life but it’s important to me that those who have supported me so much over the years are given a proper and in-depth explanation of why I’ve left the band.

So I promise you all I will explain soon. In the mean time, I’d like to just thank you for the love you are all sending me in the wake of this news. It has warmed my heart and I love you right back.”
