Avenged Sevenfold Find New Label Home

Buried among the various teases and somewhat unconventional debut of their new single “The Stage” is word that Avenged Sevenfold‘s new album, reportedly titled, “Voltaic Oceans“, will be released through their new label home of Capitol Records. You may recall earlier in the year that the band were being sued by their longtime label home Warner Bros. Records after attempting to exit the contract, citing the California Labor Code’s ‘seven-year rule’, which allows for parties to exit contracts after seven years if certain conditions are present.

The band were unhappy with the label and the various shifts in staff that left them with a poor working relationship. Though the resolution of that case was not shared with the public, it would appear that the two parties have moved on. A digital single for “The Stage” was released today via leading digital retailers and is listed as being put out via Avenged Sevenfold Partnership—which seems to be their own label imprint under the new deal with Capitol Records.

Voltaic Oceans” is presently rumored for a December 09th release while a ‘worldwide live event’ to announce the album is set for October 27th.
