Capture The Crown Manage To Crowdfund $22,000 For New EP, Hit The Studio

Capture The Crown have managed to double their initial funding goal of $10,000 USD for their upcoming new EP, “All Hype All Night“. The band decided to go the crowdfunding route after being being dropped by Sumerian Records.

The group successfully raised $22,207 USD for the EP through Indiegogo. Interestingly the funding was to help them retrieve the rights to the already recorded material as well as manufacture and release the EP.

It would appear that they are putting the excess funds to good use as they are already headed to the studio to record new material with From First To Last‘s Matt Good and producer Taylor Larson (Periphery, Sky Eats Airplane) overseeing the sessions.

That said, Capture The Crown will be tracking without bassist Blake Ellis, who exited the band late last year. He explained his departure:

“It is with great sadness that due to recent events I will no longer be playing bass for Capture The Crown, a band that I formed & have been in since the very beginning.

I wish the boys the very best on their future endeavors & hope that you will continue to show them the amazing support that you have shown whilst I have been a part of it.

I look forward to the next chapter of my life & would like to thank everybody & anybody that ever took the time to say hello to me at a show, shout me a drink or two or sent me a msg on Facebook or twitter.

My time in CTC has been incredible & I have all of you the fans to thank for that. I will miss you all”
