If With Honor pledge allegiance to anything, it would most likely be the NY hardcore scene of days past as "This Is Our Revenge", the bands debut effort for Victory, finds the frenetic and in your face style reincarnated in a modern melodic format. No doubt inspired by the bands of old, the songs featured here pack both a fiery punch and message that should easily get x covered fists pumping.
With a breezy punk appeal, the band bash out edgy traditional hardcore and pay keen attention to tempo and momentum. Rather than falling into breakdown after breakdown, the group instead forge ahead and toss in a good gang shout or melodic sing-along for good measure. While relatively lightweight in terms of heaviness when compared to their peers, the conviction the group exude while expressing their message is adamant enough to sustain a frenzied mosh.
Indeed there's much to be admired in With Honor, even if much like their peers in Comeback Kid, Rise Against and Bane, they are essentially picking up change off a road that has been traveled many times in the past. Hardly revolutionary, but wholly invigorating, hardcore's old guard and those sick of the lack of a heart behind today's metal will likely find that sometimes, revenge can certainly be sweet.
