Seminal Long Island based glam-metal band, Twisted Sister, are the latest to get the tribute treatment, with this collection 15 songs plus an AC/DC cover done by none other than Twisted Sister themselves. Featuring a wide range of artists, the lasting impact of the band, whose classic videos have been etched into the minds of nearly everyone who grew up in the 80's, is chronicled here with cover versions done both traditionally, and with the respective artists own trademark flair.

From the brutal stomp groove of fellow Long Island natives Vision Of Disorder, with their take on "Don't Let Me Down", to the melodic alt rock stylings of Nine Days on "The Price" and the hip hop remake of "Wake Up The Sleeping Giant" done by Public Enemy frontman Chuck D, this diverse tribute has a lot to offer and with such a wide range of artists paying homage, goes great lengths to show just how many artists Twisted Sister influenced. You have everything from stoner rock, death metal, hard rock and rap included, with artists as current and relevant as Sevendust and Vision Of Disorder to those who come from the more traditional vein, like Joan Jett and Sebastian Bach.

However, despite the fairly impressive roster featured here, it can not be overlooked that this is a Twisted Sister tribute album at its very core and as a result, will definitely appeal to the Twisted Sister fan more than anyone else. For those who missed the bands glory days, this could be an excellent way to get acquainted with them; hearing their songs being covered by some of today's popular artists and thankfully, unlike most tribute CD's, this isn't an album that caters to only the die hard fans of the group in question. However, it would be best for those who do check it out to have at least some interest in the band beforehand, as its likely to go over right over their head otherwise.
