Supersoul - Prelude To Bloom

You want to know what sucks? That this tape has only 3 songs. I swear I had never felt so much desire of hearing more songs of any band as I felt after I finished listening to Prelude To Bloom. I can barely wait until these guys get the recognition they deserve because you can be sure that they're going to rip shit up. Shit, I gotta say that this band is the perfect mix between heavy and melodic. It's actually hard to describe the band's sound style. The term "melodic rapcore" could maybe fit for those who really need a definition of the band's sound, but I'll try to come up with something better. Try to imagine an Earthtone9 with more melody, but with rap influences, and I think you'll get a pretty close image of what Supersoul is about. Shimmer, the first song of the tape, suggests a heavy influence of Deftones and maybe Staind, and that track in my opinion would be the best of the tape. That's the song that really got my attention. Norman's voice is something unique, and he can definitely show emotion when singing melodically. New Breed, the second track, is much more pushed into a rap vibe direction than the first one. Although I dug the more melodic side of Supersoul, this song is damn good. I dare to say that Norman's vocals in this song can sometimes remind me of some old Papa Roach stuff, Extremely heavy rapcore song, with some harsh screams, and not comparable with any other rapcore band's style, which is kinda cool cause it shows that they can be original in a style which being original in now a days is very rare. Surreal, like it's name suggests, is definitely something surreal, cause it's so intense and emotional it's not even funny. This song is definitely the most emotional track of the tape, due to the pretty singing of Norman, showing again how much his voice is important to the band. I honestly can't understand why this band isn't signed cause they are definitely showing something unique on this tape. You should really expect to hear more about them, since they're about to release their debut full-length album, which will be called Bloom, and I'm definitely sure that new perspectives will be showing up for the band.
