As the crescendo of drums and heavy riffs kicks off this CD you will immediately take notice of this New York band whose anger grips every note of the record. With predominant elements of nu metal in their music it would be easy to label the band a more raw sounding Slipknot, but in truth, they don't deserve such a title as they hammer out there own complex noise which borrows as much from the Hardcore and NoiseCore stylings. Sean Kane's gut wrenching vocals add intensity to what is already intense captivating music and he could no doubt lend his talents to any extreme genre of music. His harmonic vocals tend to let him down a bit, sometimes coming across a little flat but in time I'm sure that will improve and he certainly compensates for in his more extreme moments.
The songs are such that they have broad appeal yet still manage to keep their underground credibility. Most of the riffs and melodies are fairly easy to digest yet they are raw enough and structured in such a way to feel like this is something new, or at the very least repackaged. If you want to experience some of the heaviest riffs since Meshuggah, with a dash of groove and melody you cant go to far wrong with this lot.
