Eastcide - Everybody's Walking ... Away
"Just to stop this time / Get up and hit rewind / Cause everything has been moving backwards now since I went blind / And if it helps you out / Go ahead, scream and shout / But if you don't listen / then you'll never know what I'm all about / And if I promise you / that I'll always be true / would it make up for any other time I blew?". Gotta love Eastcide's rhymes. Anyway, let's talk about the record. "Everybody's Walking...Away" is a very good, solid album. They recently changed it's cover art, and it looks a lot better now. Very well done rapcore, kinda distinctive cause it's a lot heavier than the other bands I've heard. The CD opens with "57 Times", a really heavy song, yet with great words, and also a great singer, who has a very strong voice, which really stands out on the whole record. The other songs kinda walk in the same line of the opening track, except for "Embedded", which is a little softer, but kinda funky, in it's beginning. There aren't any bad songs on the album. All of them are really good, but the ones which I'd point out as the best ones would be "U Again", "Glowbox" (which has a very funny intro before the song starts playing), "Florida" and, the stand out cut which is definitely the best song of the album, "Product". The turntables make a really good compliment to the band's sound. Eastcide's one of the promises of the scene that comes from Boston, where, by what I know, has a really good scene, with 7th Rail Crew, Tree, 7 Hills Psycho, etc. I'd definitely recommend their CD to everyone who likes (Heavy) Limp Bizkit. Let's just wait for them to blow up...
