In true hardcore fashion Defdump from Luxembourg have self released numerous recordings over the years and
in the process have grabbed support slots with Sick of it all, Ryker`s, Pitchshifter and Suicidal Tendencies.
Having searched through there older material it's suprising they havent been picked up by a label yet but if this
7 song, 30 minute EP is anything to go by it should be the labels doing the chasing from now on.
If anyone tells you that European hardcore has nothing to offer over American acts they obviously havent heard
Defdump who render most bands plain sounding and uninspiring. There's enough diversity spread over these
seven tracks to keep even the most ardent of listeners happy. Think Poison The Well at their
most brutal, crossed with the uptempo and alert nature of Snapcase with a raw and hard edge that
is so common in European hardcore bands.
The faultlessly produced recording brings the sound to
life and the singers grating vocals are enough to make a grown man cry. Relentless and unforgiving they make you
all the more thankful when the singer offers us respite with his short spoken commentaries that
Poison The Well use to such good form.
The intelligent lyrics and uplifiting melodies, together with the unpredictable nature of the songs make this cd an
enjoyable listen. Something you can relate to and uncontrollably nod your head to. If anything, Defdump
can easily match any of their american contemporaries and teach them a thing or two in the process.
