Perhaps the most notable fact about this up and coming U.K. based act is that they feature former Earthtone9 bassist Jamie Floate on guitar, but this is not their only point of interest however as their music dually deserves recognition. A striking blend of electro-hardcore that amalgamates snarling metalcore aggression with Fear Factory reminiscent electronics; The band sound modern and volatile as they juxtapose their hardcore tendencies with concussive bass drops and some well placed melodic singing.
Urgency is a prevalent factor in the music and it comes colorfully conveyed by an array of staccato song structures and crunchy riffing. This is then coupled with droning bass lines and methodically detached vocal harmonies that eventually shed their soft side for outright throaty screams. Punctuated by a few towering bass drops and the like, the bands stay organically oriented for the most part and leave the vague traces of electronic programming to stir up a bit of surprise and intrigue.
In essence the music contained here shows a lot of promise, not because its groundbreaking or unique, but rather because the decidedly slower pacing the songs exhibit and the balance between haunting melody and enraged screams really manage to capture the attention. Sure the two songs included do sound a bit under developed and no doubt could benefit from a bit more dynamic range, but for a first foray Cubic Space Division seem to have mapped out a place for themselves that will increase in size and value if they are able to build upon their already solid foundation.
