Capstone - Unearthed
In times where lack of originality persists, having in mind that all bands try to sound like KoRn or Limp Bizkit, Capstone is a really great surprise. Unearthed is an album more melodic than anything. It alternates rappish songs with mellow songs during the entire album, which I think is something really positive. Also, they don't scream at the top of their lungs, they just sing. And I gotta say that they do it really damn good! E.J. and Michal are both great singers, and, besides the really good voice, they can rap really well. You can confirm it listening to songs like "Silver" and "MFn". And besides all of this, their lyrics are pretty amazing. Here's a fragment of one of their songs, called "Smothered": 'Tell me what the fuck am I fighting for when the man Uncle Sam hides behind the door? I am a lie...I live your lie." Letting the singers' skills aside, the rest of the band are as good as them. Glenn shows some crazy techniques at the guitar, and M.D. and Bill demonstrates really familiarity with their instruments, respectively bass and drums. Summarizing, Capstone is a really good band, with amazing singers, guitar player, bass player and drummer, and, the most important of all, are REALLY original. I recommend their album to all of you that are reading this.
