A rundown of upcoming new releases.

The Learning Curve

The Learning Curve

The Learning Curve is a section of ThePRP dedicated to up and coming talented artists. We hear countless new bands each week and as such, we will be showcasing the cream of the crop here in this section. Updated regularly *cough*, a variety of bands will always be on display here for those who are looking for something new and fresh. P.S. yes it has been like two years since the last update, blame metalcore. Does that mean this will become regular again? Only time will tell.

Graveyard
Official Website:
www.myspace.com/graveyardsongs
Label:
Tee Pee
Location:
Gothenburg, SWE
Similar To:
Witchcraft, Soundgarden, Kyuss

Audio:
"Evil Ways"
"Thin Line

Graveyard:
Lets face it, you better be pretty badass if you wear a poncho in your promo pic. Fortunately Graveyard rise triumphantly from the city of melodic death metal taking numerous crib notes from the past pioneers of psyche rock and metal to increase their ascent.

Official Website:
www.taint.co.uk
Label:
Rise Above/Candlelight
Location:
Swansea/Cardiff, UK
Similar To:
Botch, Mastodon, Quicksand

Audio:
"Hex Breaker"
"Poison Pen Attack"

Taint
Taint:
Dubious name choice aside Taint's weighty take on progressive noisy rock and penchant for doomy passages met with post-hardcore vocals is quite refreshing. Punchy, dynamic and devastating, the band sound like a spurned disciple of the 'Cult Of Neurisis' gone wildly awry.

King Hobo
Official Website:

Label:
Hippodrome
Location:
US, SWE, Etc.
Similar To:
Clutch, Deep Purple, Medeski, Martin & Wood

Audio:
"
Rolling In From The Sea"
"Swede"

King Hobo:
When members of Clutch, Opeth and other like-minded compatriots get together to expound their love of the blues and funk rock from days past, those with an open mind would do well to take heed. Sure the stoner rock tag is easily applied, but so are a variety of others as this soulful groove fest gets shaking.

Official Website:
www.witchcrafthome.com
Label:
Rise Above/Candlelight
Location:
Orebro, SWE
Similar To:
Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Blue Cheer

Audio:
"Walk Between The Lines"
"Hey Doctor"

Witchcraft
Witchcraft:
While few bands dare to take their worship of a bygone era of rock history to such extremes as Sweden's Witchcraft. Even fewer would be able to pull off this bands charming organic romp through psychedelic rock with enough traces of doom and gloom to keep the Iommi worshippers happy.

The Company Band
Official Website:
www.myspace.com/thecoband
Label:
Venture Capital Records
Location:
U.S.A.
Similar To:
Clutch

Audio:
"Fortune's A Mistress"
"Company Man"

The Company Band:
Members of Clutch, CKY, Fireball Ministry and Puny Human merged together for The Company Band, a thematic group which finds a bunch of gritty working class musicians tackling corporate America head on.
