A rundown of upcoming new releases.

The Learning Curve

The Learning Curve

The Learning Curve is a section of ThePRP dedicated to up and coming talented artists. We hear countless new bands each week and as such, we will be showcasing the cream of the crop here in this section. Updated regularly, a variety of bands will always be on display here for those who are looking for something new and fresh.

Transmission0:
With the break-up of Reveal and The Void, the final numbers of the frequency for Transmission0 to be broadcasted were finally dialed in. Having now been picked up in the US by Go-Kart Records, the bands soon to be released debut effort "O" is ready to infect the masses with nihilistic expansiveness that is both crushingly heavy and recklessly experimental.

An energizing performance is what can be expected from these young NJ-based upstarts. Having been exercising a steady diet of touring throughout the summer to compliment their already sharp sound, the group plan to enter the studio in the fall to put their latest experiences to words.

Canvas Solaris:
A genre-defying explosion of instrumental metal with a heavy prog edge, Canvas Solaris show off not only their exquisitie technical ability, but also their knack for writing extremely complex songs. Two albums are already under their belt and while they may personally not go out of their way to make their presence known, their music sure does.

Arsis
VA seems to be a hotbed for the more extreme brands of metal as of late. While groups like Lamb Of God and Byzantine may be soaking up the spotlight however, fellow VA residents Arsis are instead relishing in the darkness. An unmerciful assault of death metal is what this band serve up and few will be left unscathed after hearing it.

Official Website:

Independent
Location:
Mukilteo, WA
Similar To:
The Mars Volta, The Blood Brothers, These Arms Are Snakes

Audio:
"Ghostship Part Four"
"I Just Got This Symphony Goin'"

The Fall Of Troy:
Like many of their fellow WA-based peers, The Fall Of Troy are a spastic all-out battering of the senses. Artistic, eclectic and above all creative, this surprisingly young band fuse together numerous influences into a euphoric speedball of aural delights. A full-length and an EP have already snuck out relatively undetected and with their music showing substantial improvement with each successive release, it's about time people hop on this Trojan horse.
