The Red Chord have been forced to cancel their planned European trek with Rotten Sound, Aborted and Those Who Lie Beneath as a result of the Icelandic volcanic ash situation. Band frontman Guy Kozowyk offered the following statement on the matter:
“We did everything we could to make it to this European tour with Rotten Sound and Aborted. Unfortunately, our best efforts couldn’t get The Red Chord or Those Who Lie Beneath onto the continent until it was far too late. The remainder of the tour is uncertain, but if Rotten Sound and Aborted continue with the rest of it, we strongly advise and appreciate your support of the remaining shows. We will do our best to make up shows before the end of the year and we thank the bands, agents and fans for their patience and understanding during this ridiculous situation.”

The Red Chord’s new video for their track “Demoralizer” has debuted online via www.bloody-disgusting.com and can be viewed below. The clip was shot with director David Brodsky (Suicide Silence, The Black Dahlia Murder).
Former drummer for The Red Chord Brad Fickeisen has personally commented on his recent departure from the band which was officially announced yesterday. You can find what he had to say below:
“There is no easy way to go about leaving a busy band with plans in constant motion, but a little abruptly, I chose to depart from manning the kit for The Red Chord. I have had a great time for the past 5 years with these guys, and wouldn’t exchange it for anything. Touring is tough, everyone who’s done it, knows that. To keep it relatively short, I want to thank Greg, Guy, and Mike, and wish them the best of luck in the future. I will still be around in the music world. Thank you to everyone that I met along the way, and thank you to my friends and family for all of your support…”
The Red Chord have parted ways with drummer Brad Fickeisen and have replaced him with original drummer Mike Justian. Speaking on the situation, band guitarist Mike “Gunface” McKenzie had the following to say:
“It’s great to be jamming with Mike again. His approach to drumming is truly unique and amazing. Even though it has been about 6 years since he has played this stuff, his playing is stronger than ever. We’ve rehearsed almost every day for the last month and we can’t wait to do this live again.”
While the reasons for the line-up switch were not made clear, the official press release did offer that “The Red Chord wishes Brad the best of luck in his future endeavors.” Justian will make his live return to the band from February 10th onwards.
