  • Dope and Incubus are among the latest participants in Legacy Recordings‘ “X2″ series in which two albums from a bands back catalogue are packaged together for a single release. Dope’s 1999 outing “Felons And Revolutionaries” will be packaged with their 2001 follow-up “Life” and will arrive in stores on September 28th. Meanwhile Incubus‘ 1997 offering “S.C.I.E.N.C.E. will be combined with 2004’s “A Crow Left Of The Murder” and will also see a release on September 28th.

    Former Incubus DJ Threatens Life Of Current Incubus DJ

    According to TMZ, current Incubus DJ Chris Kilmore filed for a new restraining order against ex-Incubus DJ Gavin “DJ Lyfe” Koppel after Koppel allegedly threatened to kill him last month. The pair have a history of bad blood and altercations, more on that can be found here. Killmore replaced Koppel in 1998.

  • The Deftones were once again joined on stage by a number of their peers for the second of their two benefit concerts thrown for band bassist Chi Cheng at the Avalon in Hollywood, CA yesterday, November 20th.

    Confirmed guests include members of Suicidal Tendencies, Children Of Bodom, The Dillinger Escape Plan and Metallica, while the group also were joined by System Of A Down’s Shavo Odadjian and Daron Malakian for collaborative covers of the latters “Toxicity” and “Aerials“.

    A cover of Metallica’s “Battery” was also performed. For now, a picture of what is said to have been the set list for the second benefit show (November 20th) can be seen online here. While the latest fan-filmed footage to surface online from both nights performances can be seen below:

    The Dillinger Escape Plan, Linkin Park, Far, Motley Crue, Cypress Hill and more joined the band for the first (November 19th) benefit show. The concerts took place to raise money for the mounting medical costs incurred by Deftones bassist Chi Cheng’s car accident in November of 2008.

    Those interested in helping out with Chi Cheng’s ongoing recovery can find more information at www.oneloveforchi.com. Furthermore an auction featuring a number of unique items and experiences to benefit Cheng is also underway here. The Deftones will release their new album in February.

  • Korn’s cover of Cameo’s “Word Up!” is among the tracks set to be featured in the upcoming multiplatform “Lego Rock Band” videogame which is planned for a release this holiday season. The game will take the popular “Rock Band” mechanics and adapt them to the Lego universe.

    Other songs of note being featured in the game include “Rooftops” by the Lostprophets and “Dig” by Incubus. A full track listing for the game can be found here.
