Soulfly have revealed that they will be filming a video for an as-yet unspecified track during their March 17th live show at The Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie, NY. The band had previously been tipped to be planning a video for their track “Rise Of The Fallen“, which features a guest appearance from The Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato.
The band will release their new album “Omen” through Roadrunner on May 04th.
According to Metal Hammer, Soulfly have chosen their new track “Rise Of The Fallen” to serve as the first single from their new album “Omen“. A video for the track is also in the works. “Rise Of the Fallen” features guest vocals from Greg Puciato of The Dillinger Escape Plan.
“Omen” is scheduled to see a May 04th release date through Roadrunner.
The Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato was recently alleged to be using steroids in an article by MTV.com, causing him to take to Twitter and other outlets to defend himself against the accusations. The original article, now updated with a formal apology from the writer, can be found here.

Drummer Troy Young, who played drums on some of the tracks from Spylacopa’s debut EP (Candiria, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Isis, etc.,) was found shot dead in his apartment this past week. More details on that can be found here.
The Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato commented on Young’s passing with the following post on Twitter:
“Drummer Troy Young, played on the Spylacopa EP, was shot to death in his apartment. Sad day. Talented drummer and nice person, 29yrs old.”
The third webisode in Soulfly’s ongoing series documenting the recording of their new album “Omen” has been made available online and can be seen below. The latest to be posted features footage of Prong frontman Tommy Victor recording guest vocals for a track titled “Lethal Injection“.
Footage of Greg Puciato of The Dillinger Escape Plan in the studio recording his guest vocals on an unspecified track is also included in the episode. Furthermore, band frontman Max Cavalera reveals that Soulfly plan to hit the road with Prong in February.

The Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato recently posted on Twitter that he has been writing and recording a duet with Max Cavalera of Soulfly/Sepultura fame as of late. Further details were not offered. Puciato had the following to say on the matter:
“Writing/recording a duet with Max Cavalera, very Chaos AD era. Fuck yeah! Great experience with a living legend.”
Soulfly have been in the studio this month recording their new album. The Dillinger Escape Plan on the other hand are nearly done mixing their new effort, “Option Paralysis“, and will release it on March 23rd, 2010 through their own Party Smasher Inc. label in association with Season Of Mist.

Some more interesting footage has surfaced online from the Deftones‘ recent two night stint at the Avalon in Hollywood, CA this past weekend. Both shows were thrown to benefit their bassist Chi Cheng, who has been slowly recovering from a motor vehicle accident he suffered last November.
The accident originally left him in a coma for quite some time, along with a number of mounting medical costs for his continued recovery. The band pulled out all the stops for the performances, playing a wealth of rare material and inviting a number of their friends on stage for collaborative performances. The Deftones plan to release their new album in February.
The Deftones were once again joined on stage by a number of their peers for the second of their two benefit concerts thrown for band bassist Chi Cheng at the Avalon in Hollywood, CA yesterday, November 20th.
Confirmed guests include members of Suicidal Tendencies, Children Of Bodom, The Dillinger Escape Plan and Metallica, while the group also were joined by System Of A Down’s Shavo Odadjian and Daron Malakian for collaborative covers of the latters “Toxicity” and “Aerials“.
