Down frontman Phil Anselmo took to the stage during Heaven & Hell’s Ronnie James Dio tribute set at the “High Voltage Festival” in London, England this past weekend. Anselmo’s appearance was allegedly unscheduled and is said to have caught vocalist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, ex-Black Sabbath) off guard.

Phil Anselmo of Pantera/Down, etc. fame recently discussed his upcoming solo album, Down’s next effort and his autobiography, among other things, with Lamusicblog.com. Speaking on the new solo effort, he offered the following:
“I’m just writing new material and by no means is it finished. It’s really just in demo form right now. It’s just me and a drummer, this kid from around here, nobody that anybody knows, just a session guy that learns real fast and does what I say.
So yeah, if this stuff comes around like I think it’s going to come around, then definitely, I think people should be hearing this stuff. And that’s exciting. It’s an exciting prospect right there.”

Details have been revealed for the deluxe edition of Kingdom Of Sorrow’s (Down, Hatebreed) forthcoming sophomore album, “Behind The Blackest Tears“. The deluxe edition of the outing will come with revised artwork and the following two bonus covers tacked onto the albums standard track listing:
13 – “Soldiers Of Hell” (Running Wild cover)
14 – “No Class” (Motorhead cover)

Phil Anselmo of Down/Pantera fame joined Warbeast onstage in Fort Worth, TX this past weekend for a song. Fan-filmed footage of the performance can be found below. Warbeast are signed to Anselmo’s Housecore Records label and released their new album “Krush The Enemy” late last month.
A newly posted message on the official “Ozzfest” website, www.ozzfest.com, has revealed that an announcement regarding this years edition of the the festival will be made this coming Friday, April 30th. Rumors have been circulating as of late regarding the tour, which was revealed earlier this year to be a touring festival.
Bands reportedly under consideration for the trek include Ozzy Osbourne, Down, Killswitch Engage, DevilDriver and Black Label Society, though no official word has been released as of yet.
A trailer for Kingdom Of Sorrow’s (Hatebreed, Down) upcoming new album “Behind The Blackest Tears” has been posted online and can be seen below. The album itself will arrive in stores on June 08th through Relapse.

Arms Of The Sun (Down, King Diamond, etc.) have made their new track “Coming Up Roses” available online here. The group have a full-length debut in the can which was produced and mixed by Terry Date (Pantera, Deftones) and will now see a release in the coming months.

Kingdom Of Sorrow (Hatebreed, Down, etc.) have set “Behind The Blackest Tears” as the title to their new album which will see a June 08th release date via Relapse. The band tracked the outing at Dexter Lab Recordings in Milford, CT with engineer Nick Bellmore, while Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall) handled the mixing and mastering duties.
Commenting on the effort band frontman Jamey Jasta offered the following:
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting Kingdom Of Sorrow. Your support has made it possible for this band and album to exist and I hope you enjoy this. We put our blood and sweat into this album and it has provided us with a great deal of artistic freedom and fulfillment.”
Arms Of The Sun (Down, King Diamond, etc) have made their new track “March Of The Dolls” available online here. The group have a new 13 track album in the can which was recorded and mixed with producer Terry Date (Pantera, Deftones). Originally set for a release late this month, the outing appears to have been pushed back to an as-yet undetermined release date.
