Eluveitie Added To DevilDriver’s November UK Tour

    23.07.10 @ 11:33 am Posted by wookubus

Eluveitie have been added to DevilDriver’s upcoming November UK Tour with 36 Crazyfists.

  • DevilDriver bassist Jon Miller has checked in with the following update regarding the bands touring plans and their next album:

“Hi, everyone. This is Miller. I am back in ….Santa Barbara…. after returning home a week early from the end of DevilDriver’s 2010 European summer tour. I want to thank our guitar tech, Dave Burke and tour manager, Bubble for saving the day at the last minute and playing bass for me.

Unfortunately, I had pressing medical issue that needed immediate attention. I am feeling much better now and am beyond stoked to be a part of this year’s Ozzfest. We are doing a ….U.S….. run with Kittie, Kataklysm and Hostility immediately after the Ozzfest dates and am looking forward to finishing up the Pray For Villains touring cycle so that DD can start focusing on starting 2011 with our 5th, and i must say, burliest record to date.

This is the album that I have been waiting to show DD fans what we do best. It is not a nice sounding record. It is not happy or friendly. It’s dark. It’s wicked. It’s pissed. Its also getting mixed right now and hopefully DD fans will get to hear
a new track by the early fall. More to come on the new record soon.

I hope everyone is enjoying the DevilDriver documentary. It has been a long time in the making. We will keep you updated on more DD news and I look forward to seeing all the fans when we hit the road next month!!!!!”

DevilDriver Tap Andy Sneap To Mix New Album

    28.06.10 @ 2:42 pm Posted by wookubus

DevilDriver have recruited Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Opeth) to helm the mixes for their new album which they recently wrapped up tracking with producer Mark Lewis. Mixing sessions are scheduled to take place next month.

Speaking on the effort, band drummer John Boecklin offered the following:

“…It’s got beef. It’s interesting to me, it’s not the fastest shit we have done, nor the slowest, just lots of groove. But to me, when people say “it’s got groove”, I think its a nice way of saying simple and boring these days. We wanted to avoid this. Our record has a great contrast of dark riffs, stomp bouncing drums with the right amount of blasts and double bass, and outstanding vocal delivery from Dez that takes it past your average approach of the metal attempt. I’m not talking about reinventing the wheel or nothing. I just think our new album sits in it’s own corner from any of our other albums”
