Trap Them will commence recording their as-yet untitled new album at Godcity Studios in Salem, MA this coming Monday, September 06th. Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou will helm the sessions with the album expected out early next year. Speaking on the upcoming sessions, band frontman Ryan McKenny offered the following:
“Next week, and for the rest of September, we get knee deep in the shit. This record has been a long time coming. It’s the first, what we consider, proper LP as a full, solid band. Brian and Chris have been hard at work sweating bullets down in Louisville, loading them up in a death-punk black talon and preparing to fire at will.
This will be our fifth visit to Godcity with Kurt Ballou, who was, naturally, the most obvious choice. We’ve always had a great relationship with him, and there is a certain chemistry between our music and his talent as a producer that puts each session at ease. To sum it up, there was a certain potential the members of this band felt had not yet been met. On this record, that potential has been fully realized. Get heavy, motherfuckers.”
Irons‘ (Converge, Integrity, etc,) upcoming split with Pulling Teeth is currently in the mixing stages with a release to follow in the coming months.

Converge’s planned vinyl reissue of their “Jane Doe” album has missed its planned late May release date as of a result of complications with the vinyl manufacturer. Deathwish Inc. offered the following on the situation:
“We were shooting of the end of May as a ship date, but had to miss this projected date, as we are still waiting on the vinyl itself to arrive.
All of the covers, full-sized booklets, and exclusive T-shirts for the release are manufactured and ready to go.
As soon as the vinyl arrives, we will immediately begin shipping this highly anticipated release. The lacquers for “Jane Doe” were made by Paul Gold at Salt Mastering (Secretly Canadian, Neurot), with Alan Douches from West West Side (the album’s original mastering engineer) overseeing and approving the entire process. Though this has added a superior level of quality to the project, it also added some time to the project overall. Audiophiles should be excited though, as this attention to detail with this reissue was truly worth it.”
Converge will be missing the next few stops of their ongoing “Axe To Fall” headlining tour as a result of vehicle troubles, they offered the following statement on the matter:
“Hey everyone –
What a tour…
First thing:
We lost Lewd Acts due to some conflicts within the band.
Our friends Touche Amore are taking their place for a bit on the tour…Second:
As some of you know, our van’s transmission died the other day in Cleveland, OH. With our luck, it died early on a Saturday morning, making an immediate repair impossible. We ended up ditching our van and gear and renting a minivan to make it to our Detroit and Chicago shows.
Our pal Pettibone from Heiress is sitting tight with the van in Cleveland until it’s road worthy. Once it’s ready to go, he will be driving to meet us so we can continue the tour. In order for him to catch up with us safely, we have been forced to pull out of the 5/10 (Lawrence, KS) and 5/11 (Denver, CO) shows.
THESE TWO SHOWS WILL CONTINUE with our friends Coalesce headlining with support from Black Breath and Touche Amore. Be sure to attend these shows and support these great bands.
We will rejoin the tour in Seattle on 5/13.
We will also look to make up these two dates later this year as well. That’s about it for now, thanks.
- Converge dudes.”

Lewd Acts have dropped off of their remaining dates with Converge, Coalesce, Black Breath and more. The group commented on their departure with the following statement:
“It is with the HEAVIEST of hearts that we must announce our departure from the Axe to Fall tour. We cannot begin to express our appreciation and thanks to Converge, Touche Amore, Thursday, Black Breath, Pettibone, M0nster, Shaun and everyone else who was with us.
Bands are fragile, volitile things and not everyone wants to do a band to this exent. We will be going home to regroup and refocus. We will keep everyone updated in the near furture. We still love this music and at this point, that’s all we know. Once again, THANK YOU to everyone who came to a show, bought a shirt or cd, sang along, talked to us, shared a house, or helped us in any way.
Much love, Lewd Acts.”
