    Members Of Lamb Of God, Anthrax, Hatebreed And More Guest On New Brian Posehn Album

    Scott Ian of Anthrax, Mark Morton of Lamb Of God, Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed, John Tempesta and more will all guest on the new live comedy album, “Fart And Wiener Jokes“, from metal comedian Brian Posehn. The musicians will guest on the albums two musical tracks, one being a new song by the name of “More Metal Than You” and the other a cover of “The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers.

    “Fart And Wiener Jokes” is set for an April 27th release date via Relapse.

    Slayer, Megadeth And Anthrax Members Weigh In On ‘Big Four’ “Tour”

    Following Metallica’s recent confirmation that they will be sharing the stage with Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax this coming summer; members of Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax have also chimed in on the shows.

    The world wide web has been abound with speculation on a possible “BIG FOUR” tour for several months. Now, SONISPHERE can exclusively reveal that METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX will play together for the first time in history, in a move that will have metalheads across the globe frenzied with excitement.

    Says LARS ULRICH/METALLICA of this historic announcement:
    “Who would have thought that more than 25 years after its inception, thrash metal’s big 4 would not only still be around and more popular than ever, but will now play together for the first time…what a mindfuck! Bring it on!”

    “It’s about fucking time this happened,” said SLAYER’s KERRY KING. “and about time the fans finally get what they want. This is fucking awesome.”

    ANTHRAX guitarist SCOTT IAN agrees, commenting on the enormity of the announcement.

    “People have been talking about these four bands playing together since 1984. That’s twenty-six years of expectation!!! And the thing is, I believe not only will we live up to the expectations, we will shatter them!!

    No other four bands as influential as the four of us have ever done this. Imagine if The Beatles, Stones, The Who and Zeppelin had done shows? Or Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Motorhead? Well, I may be getting into some rarified air here but as a fan, that’s how big I feel this is.”

    These four legendary acts broke out of the underground thrash movement to dominate the metal world in the 1980s, selling millions of records and packing arenas across the globe.

    The metal giants have never before all shared the same stage, despite huge demand. But on 16th June 2010, METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX will take to the SONISPHERE stage at Bemowo Airport, Poland, to make the dreams of headbangers the world over become a reality.

    A second Big Four appearance is planned for SONISPHERE CZECH REPUBLIC three days later, with more SONISPHERE shows featuring the awesome combo to be announced in the coming days and weeks.

    Metallica Confirm Initial “Big Four Tour” Plans

    Metallica have been stirring the pot regarding the rumors of a “Big Four” tour which would see Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax share the stage. In a posting on their official website, the band offered the following:

    “You’ve been posting and chatting about it for months and we’re here now to confirm it . . . Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax will all share the same stage for the first time EVER! Look for the four of us at the Sonisphere shows in Warsaw, Poland and Prague, Czech Republic on June 16 and 19, 2010 with a few more of the festival dates still in the works, you can be sure these shows won’t be the only ones.

    In the words of Lars: “Who would have thought that more than 25 years after its inception, thrash metal’s big 4 would not only still be around and more popular than ever, but will now play together for the first time…what a mindfuck! Bring it on!”

    Members Of Anthrax, Every Time I Die And Fall Out Boy Unite In The Damned Things

    An article on “Rock Sound” that has since been pulled revealed that Every Time I Die’s Keith Buckley, Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano and Fall Out Boy’s Andy Hurley and Joe Trohman have teamed up in a new metal side project dubbed The Damned Things.

    Scott Ian had the following to say about the band:

    “We just started working on songs together and I really dug it. It just felt really good. From there we decided that obviously both of us are pretty busy in our day jobs but let’s see what we can do with this. Even if it takes us five years to make a record, why not?

    It’s super fun and it’s something that we do totally take seriously because we love the music we’ve created. People think of Fall Out Boy and they think of Pete Wentz and Patrick. These two guys, man, they’re fucking hardcore dudes.

    Joe writes some amazing riffs. We have this song called ‘A Great Reckoning’ that I swear to God, this song could be on any Thin Lizzy record. He fucking blew my mind with this song and I just can’t wait for people to hear it.”

    Meanwhile, Joe Trohman had the following to offer:

    “Scott’s right hand is the reason I got into playing punk rock, hardcore and metal! Having Keith as part of the mix is insane, we all know he writes incredible lyrics but he is also a really good singer. That is showcased in Every Time I Die, but we want him to go more into singing than screaming on this project.”

The festival already sports an impressive roster, including Faith No More, Anthrax, Meshuggah, Clutch, H.I.M., Isis, Baroness, Whitechapel and many more.

    Dave Mustaine Comments On Possible ‘Big Four’ Tour

    Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine recently checked in with an update and addressed the long running rumors of a potential tour with the ‘big four’ (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax. He had the following to say about the rumors:

    “There has been a lot of talk about the possibility of a Big Four Tour and while I find the timing peculiar, the opportunity is a once in a lifetime opportunity, because we all are really so very different now, and the chances of this happening are probably not going to come around again in the future; due to personal plans, new ventures, and the inevitable passing of torches to the next generation in each of our respective genres (or the sub-genres that were created).
    While there is nothing to say at this point, if it happens, when it happens we, as well as my other three fellow horsemen, will let you know.”
