When members of Remembering Never and the now defunct Until The End originally got together under the moniker of xDIARY OF A CORPSEx, it wasn't hard to imagine the letters sXe would be prominently involved. Now branded xBISHOPx, "Suicide Party" finds this group bashing out abrasive straight edge hardcore heavy on metal riffing and socially aware lyrics.
Think a looser version of Terror or Hatebreed and you get the picture of just who is in attendance at this 'party.' The usual suspects of chugging riffs, a frenetic rhythm section, thundering breakdowns and in your face 'get up and fight for yourself' vocals can all be found causing a ruckus. In traditional fashion too, barely any of these guests stay for over three minutes, let alone 2 minutes, and thus the house is trashed and pretty much empty before you know it.
Of course, being in the style the band have chosen, this is all status quo and there's no disputing the passion and conviction behind their music or message. But truthfully, does it really need to be said again and again? If you've got an x inked on your hand or just got back from a VFW Hall show, chances are you've probably already bought this record and are now awaiting its release on 7" vinyl. If not, well you're really not missing much except another Tae-Bo for spinkicks and floor punches.
