Essentially a proper release of [minus]'s "Elevator" demo collection, "Structure Of Simplicity" offers up two brand new tracks in the form of "Stranded" and "At The Scene" along with re-mastered versions of their previously released efforts.
The new material included here is definitely a much bolder direction for the group and the confidence that their bout of underground success has brought them so far, can be felt rippling throughout the two latest songs. "At The Scene" shows off a unique take on post hardcore meets emocore, perhaps similar to Glassjaw while "Stranded" unfolds upon the strength of band frontman Jordan's ever impressive and evolving vocal range. If these new additions are any indication of what's to come next from these boys, then its safe to say that their future is looking quite bright indeed.
Aside from the new material though, the newly revamped versions of the older material sound a bit richer with more color than their past incarnations and though the overall difference is fairly minimal, the more attuned musical ear will definitely be able to detect the subtle changes. However, with this now finalized release of the groups collective efforts proving that their new material will continue to progress and that their older works still sound as fresh now as they did a year ago, the question is no longer when will [minus] be signed, but instead how much longer will they be unsigned. In fact, its just this easy, this CD is a must have for any fan of modern heavy music. "Structure Of Simplicity" indeed.
