If Refused and the Dillinger Escape Plan ever met up in a dark alley knife fight, "With Chaos In Her Wake" is probably how it would sound. Vicious, cunning and constantly writhing with venomous intent, the band thrash out reckless crunchy riffs, scream laden vocals and dense rhythmic aggression without so much as a second thought.

Methodically paced over the top screams and truly heartfelt melodic singing inject themselves into the material like a syringe full of dirty heroin, coming in waves and bowling the listener over. Unquestionably enraged the relentless vocal assault is the focal point of the bands energy and the tip of the sword for the rest of the groups barrage. The instrumental components of the band lack little intensity themselves however and cement the songs with their dense and jagged approach, leaving thick as a brick bass lines and punchy drum beats for breathing room that is summarily shredded to tatters by the gritty guitar work.

Violent and almost serpentine, the band sound so hungry that its almost a miracle they haven't begun to eat themselves. In fact, their conviction and ferocity is so clearly documented in the songs included that they shouldn't be worried about making an impression so much as they should smashing right through the wall. Yes, their music is not for everyone, but for those who enjoy screamo styled metal with neo-punk overtones, 3 Stages Of Pain present an album that is anything but painful, definitely a band to watch.
