Disturbed frontman David Draiman has shed a bit more light on his upcoming new industrial-themed project. Replying to a fan via Twitter as to whether or not the project would be dubstep, he offered:

“NO, ITS ABOUT AS CLOSE TO IT AS NIN OR MINISTRY OR RAMMSTIEN ARE. INDUSTRIAL PREDATES DUB STEP.”

“IN OTHER WORDS, IT IS AT ALL TIMES A GUITAR DRIVEN SOUND.”

Speaking again to the the same Twitter user, he later revealed that former Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo is also involved with the project. On that he offered:

“I’LL GIVE YOU A LITTLE MORE INFO, THEN I HAVE TO LEAVE IT ALONE FOR NOW. I’M WORKING WITH GENO LENARDO FROM FILTER.”

Betraying The Martyrs Set For 2012 “All Stars Tour”

The Used Streaming New Song “Now That You’re Dead”

Another new song from The Used‘s impending new “Vulnerable” has arrived online. The latest is “Now That You’re Dead” and can be heard over at Warpedtour.com. Due to a bunk embed though many browsers aren’t properly displaying the track; so you can also find it directly over at Soundcloud.com.

Vulnerable” is slated for a March 26th release date through Anger Music Group/Hopeless.

Shadows Fall Filming New Music Video

Shadows Fall have been filming a music video for an as-yet unspecified track from their new album. Band frontman Brian Fair has posted some photos from the shoot via his Twitter here and here.

The group are gearing up to release their new album, which reportedly carries the title of “Fire From The Sky“, in the coming months.

dredg Post Excerpt From “Catch Without Arms” Documentary

dredg have released an excerpt from what is apparently an unreleased documentary chronicling the making of their 2005 full-length album, “Catch Without Arms“. You can watch that below.

As previously reported, the group will perform the aforementioned album in its entirety live at the Avalon in Santa Clara, CA tomorrow, March 22nd. The group have also promised to play some “rare b-sides” during the set as well.

At The Drive-In’s “Vaya” To Receive Wide Release On Vinyl In June

At The Drive-In were met with a bit of fan outcry when it was initially announced that their upcoming 10″ yellow vinyl pressing of their 1999 EP, “Vaya“, would only be available at the “Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival“.

It appears as though Fearless Records have listened to the fans as they have since announced that another limited pressing of the effort will arrive in U.S. stores and online starting June 05th with more details to come.

The Contortionist Post Final Studio Webisode For New Album

The Contortionist have released the final installment of their studio webisode series for their new album. You can watch it over at Metalinjection.net. The group tracked the outing with the production team of Jason Suecof (Trivium, All That Remains and Eyal Levi (August Burns Red, The Black Dahlia Murder).

A late spring/early summer release is being plotted for the outing. Fans won’t have to wait that long to hear new material however as the group expect to play a new song or two throughout their immediate touring.

A June 19th release date has officially been set by HevyDevy Records/InsideOut Music for The Devin Townsend Project‘s upcoming DVD boxset, “By A Thread – Live In London 2011“.

The set captures a series of sold out shows the band played in London, England late last year. They find full album performances of the groups ”Ki“, “Addicted“, “Ghost” and “Deconstruction” releases. It will feature all four shows, one on each of the four included DVD’s; plus a 5-CD set (each album performance and a bonus disc of encores.)

Anywhere (The Mars Volta, Etc.) To Release Debut Album On “Record Store Day”

Anywhere are set to issue their self-titled debut album on Record Store Day (April 21st). The group feature The Mars Volta/At The Drive-In vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Christian Eric Beaulieu (Triclops!, Liquid Indian), Mike Watt (The Stooges, fIREHOSE, etc.) and more. The initial Record Store Day vinyl pressing will be limited to 500 copies on 12″ aqua colored vinyl, complete with download code.

A CD/digital release will follow on May 14th with more information on the effort available over at ATPFestival.com. The title track from “Anywhere” is available for streaming below:
