Struc/tures will be going on an indefinite hiatus and have one last farewell tour planned. The bands ex-frontman Nick Xourafas will also be back with the outfit for that run. Joining them on that will be Obey The Brave, Exalt and Villains. The group said of the trek and their decision to step down:

“We are saddened to announce that Structures will be going on an indefinite hiatus come 2015. This is not an easy decision considering how much we have put into this band since it’s inception in 2009, however we all feel that a healthy break is necessary for each of us for various personal reasons. We are all on good terms and have made this decision collectively.

We want to thank all of our fans, new and old, for supporting the music we have made throughout the last few years. You are what allowed us to live out our dreams and for that we are forever grateful. To all of the bands we have toured with and the friendships that have been formed along the way, thank you for the unforgettable times on the road and the great shows that we’ve shared. Thank you to Sumerian Records for giving us a platform to release our music. Thanks to Outerloop Management, Good Fight, Pantheon, Avocado and The Agency Group for all your help through the years.

This tour will be a farewell tour of sorts, however, we are not fully closing the idea of picking things back up if and when the time is right. Who knows what tomorrow brings.

We’re also excited to have Nick joining us on these dates. It only makes sense that we finish off how we started. We will be playing songs from our entire catalogue.

Looking forward to playing some fun shows around home with Obey The Brave, our hometown friends in Exalt and Villains. See you at the dates below and thanks for your support, we love you all.”

Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor and percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan gave a revealing interview to about the difficult road to their soon-to-be-released new album, “.5: The Gray Chapter“. Crahan revealed that the album’s opening cut “XIX” drove him to tears:

“I don’t usually let people see me cry. It’s too hard. But when I heard what Corey Taylor sang on the song ‘XIX,’ I cried and cried and cried. It hurt so bad.”

Crahan also revealed that the bands new drummer—reportedly Jay Weinberg—went through an initiation of sorts at the hands of the band. Crahan flew him to Des Moines, IA to the grave of the bands late bassist Paul Gray, stating:

“I made him pay his respects and say hello. I told him what we’re gonna do, and we got on a fucking plane and flew to fucking L.A.”

Both Crahan and fellow percussionist Chris Fehn also spent a good time standing in front of the drummer, yelling and flipping him off as he played to initiate him into the outfit. Taylor in particular stated that the process of making the album and the adversity they faced making it has made them more appreciate of each other:

“When we were younger, we took each other for granted. We didn’t allow ourselves to – for want of a better word – love each other. We loved what we did together, but we didn’t allow ourselves to appreciate each other for who we are individually. We learned the hard way that you can paint yourself right out of a picture, if you’re not family. I think that’s the biggest way that we’ve changed. We’ve started listening instead of screaming. We’ve started reaching out and showing appreciation for each other, whereas before we might have been a little too proud, a little too stubborn. Losing Paul shook us to or foundations, but luckily that foundation held. We didn’t realize we were taking our time with Paul for granted. I’ll be damned if I do it with these guys.”

.5: The Gray Chapter” will be released October 21st on Roadrunner Records.

Attika 7 (Ex-Biohazard, Etc.) Streaming New Song “Darkest Day”

Attika 7 (ex-Biohazard, etc.) have released a lyric video for their new track “Darkest Day“, which you can check out after the break. The song serves as a precursor to their new full-length album, which they expect to release in mid-2015. The bands Evan Seinfeld had the following to say of it:

Attika 7 is proud to release ‘Darkest Day’ to the masses. This is easily our heaviest track to date. We think a lot of people are going to be very surprised about the sound, the energy and the musicianship. We have been working harder than ever to take our music to the next level.

This is the ultimate revenge song about the wheel of Karma coming full circle and the hand of fate, whether by our hands or yours delivering some real justice. Too many people think there are no consequences to their actions, and revenge, a dish best served cold, can taste so sweet.

When someone has done you wrong, you don’t always get to pay them back and when someone takes something from you, something must be done! The weak will beg for mercy and receive NONE, if Attika 7 has anything to say about it.”
