Queens Of The Stone Age To Be Rejoined By Nick Oliveri At Halloween Show

Former Queens Of The Stone Age bassist/vocalist Nick Oliveri apparently won’t be relegated to merely the opening duties at his former bands upcoming Halloween bash at The Forum in Los Angeles, CA. Oliveri has told NME that fans can expect a temporary reunion set as well:

Josh asked me to come up and do six songs with Queens, like an encore set. A reunion, but not a reunion. I’m going to get up and play some bass and sing some songs at the end of the show. It should be an interesting night.”

Speaking on whether or not he would ever return to the band:

“That’s pretty much up to Josh. It’s his band, and when he pulls the trigger on something, it’s up to him. I put myself out there a few different times in the past 10 years at Queens shows. I’d go and see them play and say, ‘Hey man, I’m here! Do you want me to sing a song?’ I stopped asking him after a while, and then he asked me! It’s pretty much just when he wants to do something, these days. It’s not up to me, is what I’m saying.”

I always put myself out there, and so finally he came up with this Halloween date. First he asked for my band to open up, and I said yeah. Then he got back to me and said: ‘At the end, do you want to do some of the old songs?’ I was like, ‘Sure man! Let’s do it!’ It should be a very fun and interesting night.”

Vanna Premiere “Personal Cross” Music Video

Vanna have rolled out the following music video for their song “Personal Cross“. Frontman Davey Muise told Loudwire of the lyrical content:

“In dealing with personal demons and struggling on how to shake them from my shoulder I always feel like each one needs their own saving. That each issue is as great as the next. I’ve learned that there is nothing and no one that will step in and save me, no rescuer to swoop in and save the day. I create in myself a personal cross, a way to lessen the load, a way to cope. I’m a mess of a person but somewhere inside me is that light that can over throw those dark parts in my life. Make your own crosses to bear the weight of your woes and troubles, you are your own savior.”

New Machine Head Tracks Leak Online, Robb Flynn Comments

Machine Head frontman/guitarist Robb Flynn has taken out the time to point out that the groups new single “Now We Die” (and the studio version of “Killers & Kings” have leaked online. Explaining his reasoning in doing so, he shared the following post along with a leaked posting of “Now We Die“:

And why am I telling you this information?

Information that just a few years ago, labels and bands would have been trying their hardest to pull down from torrent sites and flag YouTube channels?

Because in 2014 you just have to own shit like this.

Own it…and move on.

John Lennon once sang “life is what happens, while you’re making other plans…”

That’s right my friends, “Now We Die,” the first track and lead single off of “Bloodstone & Diamonds” has officially leaked, 3 weeks ahead of it’s originally scheduled Oct 10th release date as a digital single.

Mindbogglingly, it was leaked via an iTunes UK Pre-Order page that “someone” fucked up on (and who is about to be fucking fired!) that basically said, “pre-order Machine Head’s new album and get TWO free songs.”
