Gwar, Municipal Waste & Ghoul Tour Officially Announced

Gwar will hit the road with Municipal Waste and Ghoul shortly for the second leg of their “Return Of The World Maggot Tour“. Legacy Of Disorder will also appear on the bill from March 20th through to April 11th.

Dave Brockie, who is listed as Oderus Urungus‘ “personal slave” offered:

“All the years of doing GWAR could never have prepared us for what we have been through, and I want to thank the metal community and the extended GWAR family for all of your support. Finishing that last tour was the hardest thing we have ever had to do, and we still have about half of the country left to hit.

We will continue as a four-piece, with the special tribute to Flattus at the end of the show, in order to give our fans a chance to say goodbye to our fallen Scumdog brother in true GWAR fashion-covered in blood and rocking the fuck out! After this tour is over we can start looking to the future and begin to put this tragedy behind us. But for now we are still in “Hail Flattus” mode!”

Jeff Loomis Taps Ihsahn For New Solo Album

Jeff Loomis (ex-Nevermore) has revealed that he has tapped Ihsahn (ex-Emperor) to lay down some guest vocals on his upcoming solo album. Speaking on that Loomis offered:

“I know most of you are aware that Christine Rhoades is doing some vocals on my album. At first I thought she’d be the only guest singer on the record but then this one song started coming together, it’s pretty brutal. I’ve always wanted to do really, really heavy music and after hearing this, both Aaron and myself thought we needed some crazy, sick singer on it.

We just sat around tossing names out for a bit, nothing really was sticking and then Aaron says, ‘I got it…Ihsahn‘ and it was one of those moments where you knew that was the answer all along, it just hadn’t been unlocked in your mind yet. Anyway, a few short emails back and forth and we had his vocal track in. It came out amazing. I can’t wait for you to hear it. Ihsahn, thanks again, it’s an honor to have you on my record.”

Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork, etc.), Tony MacApline and Megadeth alumni Marty Friedman and Chris Poland are among the other guest talent set to appear on the effort; which Aaron Smith (7 Horns 7 Eyes) has been overseeing the production duties for.
