Winter Solstice look to have decided to call it a day, here's their statement on the matter:
"For those of you who have yet to hear, we at the Winter Solstice camp have decided to call it quits. Each of our members was feeling pulled in different directions and it seemed that it was time for us to go the way of the band and pursue other things. We are grateful for the time we had and are even more grateful to the people that made it possible. Thanks very much to everyone at Metalblade for working so hard with us. We'd also like to thank Scott and Ian for working with us every step of the way. Chimaira are in the process of getting out of their contract with Roadrunner Records, here's the what the band had to say on the matter:
"Before the rumor mill starts going at full force, we wanted to let you know that we have amicably parted ways with Roadrunner Records. We asked to be let out of the contract and they graciously agreed to our request. We (Chimaira and Roadrunner) had not been seeing eye to eye on some key issues and came to a mutual agreement to end our relationship - and we are leaving on good terms with everyone there. We are really happy about this and look forward to the future of Chimaira.
Bands change labels all the time, but in this day and age everyone on the Internet is an industry expert and will come up with their own theories as to 'what happened.' There is nothing more going on than what we already stated. A trailer for a DVD the Deftones shot around the time of "White Pony" has surfaced online here. The outing, while completed, never saw an official release due to the bands label not being behind it. Presently the Deftones are shooting for a September 12th release date through Maverick for their as-yet untitled new album.
