"The story is a wacky art-performance, starring his brother Sevag.
He's the MC for the controversy happening on-stage, while hard-core
fans are losing their minds in the audience. We need all kinds of people
and all ages for this video, everything from the choir to the mosh pit.
And yes, you'll get to hear the song - it's amaZing. Serj says it's
the craziest song on the disc... that's why he gave it to me.
We'll be limiting it to the first 100 guys and 100 girls who send
us their information.
It's going to be out of control.
Send your name, phone, and MySpace url to

Back To Hellview - wookubus
(12:07 PM PST 08/20/2007)
CKY recently checked in with the following update on their new album for Roadrunner:
"the new album is coming along quicker and smoother than any record we've ever done, and the excitement of being with a new label with many possibilities has me writing non-stop. im still coming up with music for the new record, which the band and i are reluctant to elaborate on the details of the material and direction because it raises and/or lowers fan's expectations but its obvious in typical CKY fashion that if we didnt feel it was better than what we've done in the past than it wouldnt be worth working on. some of the song titles we're working with are "Hellview III: Hellions on parade", "Karma works its way", "underappreciated", "making contact", "...and she never returned", "the boardwalk body", "there's two of me" and other classics to be. our work ethic has been more along the lines of volume 1 and IDR where we tend not to overexamine things and just go with what sounds great right away. there's still a lot of work to do but the album will easily be out by march/april '08."

Double The Ocean - wookubus
(12:30 PM PST 08/18/2007)
The Ocean have completed tracking their new 2-CD effort "Precambrian", here's what the band had to say about the sessions:
"WE STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT,
but after some extremely busy weeks in the studio and on the road, we finally shipped out the hard-drives with our recordings this morning to NYC and Helsinki, where they will be mixed by Jonas Olsson and Andrew Schneider (Unsane, Pelican, Cave In, Made Out of Babies). Both albums will be mastered on August 28th and 29th by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East Mastering.

After almost six months of daily work on this immense project, comprising more than 83 minutes of music dispersed over two very distinct and different discs that see us exploring entirely new musical territories while frequently employing well-tried oceanic elements, we are more satisfied than ever before with the final result. This is certainly our musically most advanced and most versatile album to date, including songs of truly epic proportions, with huge orchestrations, subtle electronic textures and immense harmonic density and dynamic width.

On the vocal front, we have finally found someone to follow in Meta's footsteps. His name is Mike Pilat, and he will move from the UK to Berlin soon to join the band full-time as bass player and main vocalist, together with Nico. His characteristic voice and incredible range of vocal styles are one aspect that really distinguishes this upcoming double-album. Mike's stunning vocal qualities can already be witnessed live on stage during our current tour with THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER.

Apart from that, we're happy to welcome some old and new guests on the album, including Caleb Scofield (Cave In, Zozobra, Old Man Gloom), Nate Newton (Converge, Doomriders), Dwid Hellion (Integrity), Tomas Hallbom (Breach), Eric Kalsbeek (Textures) and musicians from the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

Our upcoming double-album will be entitled Precambrian and its concept and album artwork evolve around the early days of this planet, when mother earth was a hostile and uninhabitable place devoid of life and reigned by fire, sulfur and streams of red-glowing lava... The artwork will be done by Martin Kvamme again, we have already seen some stunning rough drafts.

Precambrian is composed of a mini-CD with 22 minutes playing time entitled Hadean/Archaean, and a full-length CD with 61 minutes playing time, entitled »Proterozoic«, both referring to successive geological eras. The song titles are as follows:

disc A: Hadean/Archaean
I. Hadean
1.) Hadean
II. Archean
2.) Eoarchaean
3.) Paleoarchaean
4.) Mesoarchaean
5.) Neoarchaean
disc B: Proterozoic
III. Palaeoproterozoic
1.) Siderian
2.) Rhyacian
3.) Orosirian
4.) Statherian
IV. Mesoproterozoic
5.) Calymmian
6.) Ectasian
7.) Stenian
V. Neoproterozoic
8.) Tonian
9.) Cryogenian
We will be embarking on an all-over European headlining tour all of November to promote the album, supported by INTRONAUT and MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT (USA).
We will release further details on the album concept and artwork and a definite release date very soon, so stay tuned. Time to get drunk now..."
