The Postman Syndrome:
Since forming back in 1996 the three pronged guitar assault of The Postman Syndrome have developed overtime into one truly fearsome musical beast. Utilizing instruments of all kinds, this unique quintet blur the lines of genre segregation and all the while keep a vicious heaviness in place to keep them from getting lost in the clouds. With their new CD "Terraforming" now out on Now Or Never Records beginning to slowly build up steam, perhaps there's hope for progressive heavy music yet.

Thehistoryof:
A refreshingly upbeat take on melodic metal, complete with emotive feel good choruses, this Santa Barbara, CA based quintet bring to light a side of the Californian music scene that was eminent before commercial success moved its way in and tainted all that the then big time players had to offer. Featuring within their ranks former Ultraspank guitarist Jerry Oliviera, their sound is far removed from the bulk of today's "hot" trends and its energetic nature just might make one remember better times without sounding like a nostalgic throwback.

When the ever prolific Sunny Day Real Estate decided to call it a day, it didn't take long for many of its former members to band together on a new project. That project is this, The Fire Theft, and with the group having recently completed work on their forthcoming full-length debut and a label currently being lined up to release it, one can expect to hear a lot more from them in the future.

Fractional:
Formed back in 2000, Fractional (formerly Fractional Importance) decided to take the reigns themselves, releasing their music through their own label, shooting their own videos and playing an admirable string of shows in support. All that hard work is now looking to have paid off however as major labels have finally begun to come around to what this outfit have to offer and with a new record nearing completion and an early 2003 release in the works, their time to shine seems to be drawing near.

Maybe Today:
Having undergone enough line-up and name changes to keep the C.I.A. guessing since their inception back in 2000, Maybe Today have grown from a once hip-hop influenced act into a full on emotional post hardcore assault. Tangling menacing aggression with emphatic wails, their latest incarnation is a testament to trying new things and with a steady touring regiment constantly in place, their latest name might as well pay homage to the day their big break comes along.
