eightfourseven:
Since forming in late 2001 eightfourseven have played a relentless string of local area shows that have won them a number of devoted fans as a result of their strong live performances which layer real time live samples during their set to give the audience a "more produced but raw feel". Having gained the attention of former Far guitarist and current frontman for The Revolution Smile Shaun Lopez, the group subsequently hit the studio with him in the producers chair to record their debut EP "Everlasting" which recently saw a release. With the buzz starting to spread and larger shows being picked up all the time, it looks as though the numbers are definitely in eightfourseven's favor. |

With a passion for consistent gigging throughout the California scene and their latest EP "Why Fight It?" now in stores, the groups "alliance could" aptly describe the size of the their fan base if given the right exposure. |

Barium:
Originally starting out as a forgettable rapcore unit back in 1998, Barium eventually found their voice through a caustic blend of technical metal and soaring melodies, a sound which landed them a record deal with Brutal Records who released their 9 song effort "Education In Error" this past June. With regional shows opening for various luminaries of the present day hardcore/metalcore scene having already taken place and more set to go down in the months ahead, Maine might have a chance at making a dent in the metal scene just yet. |

Contraption7:
Hailing from the blossoming Illinois scene, the duo that comprise Contraption7 have kept themselves busy over the recent months with the recording of a 5 song EP that fully documents just what is musically possible with technology in this day and age. Produced by Steve Spaperri (Ministry, Skinny Puppy), the paranoia inducing electronic dissections, bulldozing drum barrages and well balanced vocals that teeter between distant melodies and punch to the throat screams are enough to almost make you forget that they do all this without the other 2-3 members required by most other bands. |

Eden Maine:
Though they really began to solidfy their line-up and sound back in 2001 it was not until this past January that Eden Maine finally got enough funds together to record their 5 song debut EP "The Treachery Pact"; A release which they spared no expense for, flying in none other than Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou (Cave In, Isis) to produce it on their own dime. With a name like Kurt's involved and music as talented as that which the group create in place, it didn't take long for labels to come sniffing around and as such Ignition Records hopped on board soon after, signing up the band and slating a September 09th release date for the offering in the bands native country. With touring across the pond as much as possible planned for the rest of the year, it may take awhile for North American fans to pick up on this up and coming quintet, but this matters little as their recorded output speaks volumes enough as it is. |
