Introduction:
After parting ways with Roadrunner Records in the late 90's, Vision Of Disorder remained relatively low key, with their only release being a collection of re-recorded demos and new material entitled, "For The Bleeders". They also played the occasional show here and there, but it seems as though 2000 was really the year for them to build up momentum again, as they hit the road early in the year for an ambitious stint alongside Candiria, Buried Alive and Skarhead. Once completed, they then took it easy and graced a few stages here and there until the spring arrived and they landed the opening slot for a short string of dates on the annual Warped tour. Fortunately, it wasn't long after these successful shows that the band firmly decided to devote all their attention on finding a new label and to continue work on writing what will become their next album. Yet still despite an announcement from the group regarding their work on the new material, the buzz seemed to die off through the late summer and found the band relatively quiet. However, that silence was soon shattered when word leaked out in the fall that they had been in the studio with producer Machine (Pitchshifter, (hed)p.e.) recording a new demo of all new material. It was shortly after that when the group decided to upload an mp3 of one of the freshly recorded tracks to Farmclub.com and the response to it was instantly overwhelming, rapidly taking them into the top 5 downloads spot. Although some labels may have questioned the groups fan base after they had been independent for so long, this turn of events cemented the fact that they were still as popular as ever and as such the band signed a new recording contract with TVT Records in the fall. They then spent the tail end of 2000 firming up their new songs and also managed to squeeze in the time to record a cover of a Twisted Sister track for the forthcoming "Twisted And Strange" tribute album which is set to see a release through Koch Records sometime in the coming months. Now, as 2001 begins these Long Island boys are slated to hit the studio in January with producer Machine at the helms to record their debut for their new label and with a tentative album title of "From Bliss To Devastation", you can bet that the music contained within will take the listeners on the exact trip it suggests. - wookubus
