Introduction: Tinfed have remained one of Sacramento's best kept secrets for quite sometime gaining praise from close friends Will Haven, The Deftones and Far for many years. 2000 finally saw the band begin to gain the attention they deserve though as they signed a recording contract with Third Rail/Hollywood and spent the early months of the year recording their debut effort for the label, "Tried + True", with producer Ed Buller (Gravity Kills). The spring which followed however proved to be prosperous for the band, when their new track "Immune" showed up on the "Mission Impossible M:I-2" Soundtrack alongside such heavyweights as Limp Bizkit and Rob Zombie. The release of their new album then followed soon after, hitting stores in August and the band took to the road in support of it doing various local shows and a few tours here and there while the winter months saw them share the stage with Gravity Kills, Spineshank and Factory 81 among others. But with 2000 now a memory and a fresh new year ahead of them, the band are looking to break through, releasing their new single "Drop" to radio in mid-January and eyeing some larger scale tours to back it up. But whether or not they do make the ascension to the next level, one thing will always remain true, their latest release was perhaps one of the best sleeper hits of 2000. - wookubus Albums
