Band: Pressure
4-5 |
Introduction: Pressure 4-5 began the year with a substantial buzz, which for the most part came from the strength of their independently released EP, "Antetechnology". Although it was released in 1999, word of mouth seemed to peak about it in early 2000 as the band found themselves the focus of many webzines and websites dedicated to underground and heavy music. But the net wasn't their only successful outlet as they were constantly playing live shows in and around their native Santa Barbara, steadily building up a loyal following which along with the positive press, helped them land a review of the aforementioned EP in a late spring issue of the popular rock magazine, Metal Hammer. It wasn't long after that when more and more labels began to take notice and the band dropped the idea of having a DJ in line-up and instead enlisted him as a second guitarist. With the addition of another instrument, they took to the studio to record a new 3 song demo in the summer which yielded impressive results and then followed it up with yet another new demo in the fall, this time recording at the luxurious A&M Studios with producer Ed Stasium (Biohazard). The material they tracked the second time around firmly solidified the bands new direction and thicker sound and shortly after they signed a recording contract with Dreamworks Records in the fall. Now as they head into the new millennium, their attention is focused on the future as plans to record their full length debut for the label in March have already been set and if their recent demo's are any indication of what is to come, you can expect these hot and comers to make a big splash when their album hits stores in late summer. - wookubus Albums
