Band: Mudvayne |
Introduction: After signing to No Name/Epic in late '99, Mudvayne spent the early months of the year in the studio recording their major label debut "L.D. 50" with producer GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Spineshank) in Vancouver, BC. It wasn't long after this when the buzz on the internet began to pick about the band, when word leaked out that Shawn Crahan of Slipknot would be executive producing the effort, instantly drawing the attention of the aforementioned bands ever rabid fan base. Finishing off their studio time as spring rolled around, the group headed out on the road with their close friends Slipknot along with One Minute Silence, Dope, Ultraspank and various other openers and then went on to announce their inclusion on the Ozzfest 2000 tour, which was set to take place through the summer. However, it seems that this was never meant to be as the band wound up doing the Tattoo The Earth festival instead, switching their touring plans a few mere weeks before the kickoff date. Spending some time on the road yet again with Slipknot, the band also shared stages with (hed)p.e., Taproot and Hatebreed during the late spring and embarked on the Tattoo The Earth tour in July, winning over many fans with their animated performances. Going on to release their album in late August, they followed up their successful festival stint with a few shows alongside One Minute Silence, Relative Ash and Factory 81. The fall then found a live version of their track "Dig" show up on the "Tattoo The Earth: The First Crusade" live album and another short U.S jaunt, this time with One Minute Silence, Nonpoint and Ultraspank followed by yet another trek with Kittie and Factory 81. Shooting a video for their first single "Dig" in November, the band headed overseas for their first time in December and returned home for a few dates before debuting it in early January. Now, after 9 months of touring and a fan base steadily growing, the single and video finally head to radio and video outlets, as the band head over to Australia for a stint on the Big Day Out Festival and with the public now set to get a full dosage of this lethal Illinois based quartet, only one question remains.. Can they handle it? - wookubus Albums
