Band: Machine
Head |
Introduction: Machine Head started the year off riding on the success of their '99 release, "The Burning Red" and launched a successful headlining tour alongside Primer 55 and Reveille in the late winter, which took them through to the spring. After some well deserved R&R they headed out overseas for a handful of dates before returning home to spend the early summer playing a few radio shows here and there. It wasn't long after that, when the group decided to begin working on new material for their next release and began demoing new tracks, one of which showed up on an import single entitled "Year Of The Dragon" and also as an mp3 download on their official website. Things seemed to be going great for the group as they continued to work on the new material and the exposure they had been gaining as a result of their songs showing up on the "Heavy Metal 2000" Soundtrack, "Nativity In Black II" Tribute album, "Free Air - Vol. 2: Music For Motocross" and MTV's "Return Of The Rock" compilation, was paying off nicely. Unfortunately though, it seems things took a turn for the worse in the late summer/early fall as a feud with one time producer Ross Robinson erupted over his work on "The Burning Red", not to mention the short departure of drummer, Dave McClain, who abruptly left the band and joined Systematic, only to then leave them after being a member for around a week to rejoin with Machine Head. But thankfully, as the year began to wind down, it seemed as though everything was once again back in place as the group played a few successful hometown shows and continued work on writing material for their upcoming new album "Super Charger". An album which they will hit the studio in January to begin recording with a summer release through Roadrunner Records being eyed. Still, despite the good and the bad experiences that 2000 brought them, It's a safe bet to say that they will be out on the road again by the spring and with the new found solidarity, it will be a treat for audiences worldwide to take in the newly charged machine. - wookubus Albums
