Introduction:
After releasing a few independent albums throughout their few years together as a band, Liquid Gang started off 2000 with a bang by signing a recording contract with Lava/Atlantic in January and quickly hitting the studio afterwards in March, to begin work on their first release for their new found label with producer Malcolm Springer (Full Devil Jacket). After continuing to put the finishing touches on the album throughout the summer, the public finally got a chance to hear what the group had to offer in June when their newly recorded track, "Blunt Force Trauma" surfaced on MTV "Return Of The Rock" compilation, which saw a release through Roadrunner Records. After a short break during the downtime that followed the recording process, the band then took to the road playing with various acts including Staind, Disturbed and Sevendust before embarking on a tour alongside Ultraspank and Project 86 which brought them to the release of their major label debut, "Sunshine". With the album finally in stores, they then took another short break to do some press for it before hitting the road once again, this time with Taproot, Disturbed and Flybanger for a trek that led to a choice opening slot on the Stone Temple Pilots/Disturbed tour which took place in the fall. With the winter approaching they then graced stages with various other bands such as Relative Ash, Linkin Park, The Workhorse Movement, Chimaira, Sevendust and many more before taking a short rest in December. All in all a very fruitful year indeed for a group just beginning to break into the scene and 2001 looks even brighter for them as they are already earmarked to show up on the soundtrack for the upcoming MTV sponsored BMX game, "T.J. Lavin's Ultimate BMX" which will be released for Playstation in late January and also feature tracks from P.O.D. and Incubus. But for those not interested in the groups jump to the video game realm, you can still expect a solid year of touring to take place in 2001 along with the imminent impact of their next single, as they are currently deciding what ray of the sunshine to blind the public with next. - wookubus
