Introduction:
Element Of Surprise are an an up and coming new act that came to be as a result of the breakup of Tribal Disco Noise and the temporary hiatus of Nuclear Rabbit. As the members from both groups went their separate ways and pondered the future, former Tribal Disco Noise frontman Andy Slipka began his search for a new outlet and when he found Nuclear Rabbit's 9-string bassist Jean Baudin and drummer Stymie both pursuing a similar avenue, they hooked up and began to test the waters. After the initial jam sessions yielded impressive results, the trio began what would become a lengthy quest for a guitarist. After auditioning countless hopefuls they finally found what they were looking for in newcomer Raye and proceeded to lock themselves up in the home studio throughout the tail end of 2000, working on material and firmly developing their sound. With things beginning to gel, they announced themselves to the world in the winter and are set to release their first demo in early 2001. A slew of local dates are planned to follow and when judging by the talent possessed by those involved, it's a safe bet that the results will be, at the very least, surprising. - wookubus
