The year 2000 will be remembered for a lot of things. From the various grudges that developed between many a band in the heavy music scene to the old friendship's that were renewed and even the success of two metal laden summer festival tours. But 2000 also brought us a fresh crop of hard music that went on to prosper in the mainstream, with the general acceptance of the once shunned music form now at a seemingly all time high. This may sound like a bold statement at first, but it is one that that could be easily verified by the fact that both up and comers and old favorites alike each found platinum and gold in massive quantities, something that would have been unheard of during any other year in recent memory. But even though 2000 saw many artists break out and begin building their careers, it also saw many fall by the wayside, deciding to call it quits and move on. In the end though, when it all boils down to it, 2000 was about the music and as such we here at The PRP did our best to help guide you through it all yearlong and with 2001 now upon us, we decided we would let the artists speak out for themselves on what albums they enjoyed the most during the past year. Some bands preferred to list what inspired them the most, while others listed their hated most hated, but whatever the case may be, this is the list of music that helped shape the bands of the past year and as we forge on into the new millennium, it will undoubtedly be the music that will influence the forthcoming efforts from all the groups involved. So it is without any further adieu that we here at The PRP proudly present to you.....
