Band: Alien
Ant Farm |
Introduction: Alien Ant Farm have been lurking throughout the CA scene for quite sometime, earning various accolades and acclaim with the release of their 1999 full length, "Greatest Hits", and even embarking on ambitious European tour in support of it. Yet 2000 started off rather quietly for them as the spring was spent recording a new demo and initial plans were laid to re-mix and re-release their latest effort in the summer. These plans however, were later scrapped and July then found the band hit the road with the highly respected and at the time indie act dredg, for what was a near month long west coast tour. Yet, it was but mere days into this trek, when the band found themselves becoming the first act signed to the brand new Dreamworks Records imprint label, New Noize which was founded by close friends Papa Roach. After rapping their stint on the road, they then took to the studio with producer Jay Baumgardner (Coal Chamber, Papa Roach) in September to record two tracks for a promotional sampler, before returning to the studio full time with Jay at the helms once again in October to officially begin tracking the forthcoming debut for their new label, "Anthology", which is currently set to hit stores in March. Spending the final months of 2000 mixing their album while also playing a few local shows here and there, the group charged into January with all cylinders blazing, shooting a video for their first single "Movies", before embarking on a California tour with various local acts. With this jaunt expected to be followed up by a month long stint alongside Orgy and Cold and the highly anticipated "Raid The Nation" Tour with Papa Roach, Orgy and Fear Factory set to take place afterwards, perhaps the aliens won't be attacking from the sky after all, as it looks like they plan begin their ascent to dominating the scene, starting from the ground up. - wookubus Albums
