Mastodon bassist/vocalist Troy Sanders and vocalist/guitarist Brent Hinds are apparently planning to resurrect a project they previously had in the works called Turd Factory this year. Sanders recently told Loudwire:
“…This is a project I was involved in that was the weirdest thing I’ve ever heard. Brent Hinds and myself, we had a brief band that I’m really trying to bring back and it’s the weirdest thing I was ever a part of and it was very, very enjoyable… Turd Factory. It was short-lived and a lot of fun … We’re gonna have a new release coming out, I’m gonna go ahead and say it. It’s gonna come out at the end of 2017.”
While it may seem like he was joking, he went on to mention that the effort may arrive via Black Dune Records—who in conjunction with Rise Records recently put out the debut album from one of Sanders‘ other outfit, Gone Is Gone. Mastodon themselves already have a new album in the can with tentative plans for a spring release date being finalized.
