letlive., just tour the US constantly. If you’re around enough I’ll buy more tickets to see you than the entire city of Stuttgart will.

    • grantbrochill

Is $1400 a show (assuming the one here is a typical show) even worth it to tour Europe?

      • mYstic headlock

That’s GROSS sales. They probably make like 500 bucks from that show. Meaning each member made as much as I made before lunch today. In Germany.

Still, I think the point is for these guys to get exposure, not make a ton of dough,

      • adamonfire

But they may also get a cut of the bar tab, so it’s very likely they each pocketed an additional $5k off that.

      • grantbrochill

Yea, that’s what I meant. After splitting the pot however many ways, you’re probably just scraping by.

But hell, I’d for sure take a break-even trip to Europe where I got to play my music every night. Especially if it might lead to a return trip where I make some actual profit.

      • grantbrochill

I mean, I usually PAY to go abroad! I think I just figured out touring.

Well at least some hard rock bands can draw

    • 2Ready2Jiggle

Just think of the drawing power they’d have if Steve Perry ever rejoined the band. Journey are probably the most underestimated rock band ever. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone in everyday life who will cop to being a fan, yet they show up in droves for their shows.

      • JimCroceLoverXEX

I regularly admit to being a fan. The Tinley Park got date got rained out and the makeup date is a date I have off and the gf is a fan so we’re gonna go. Everyone I’ve told about the show is gonna go. They’re a band that most people would see in a heartbeat but be big enough of a fan to seek out dates on their own. They can get fucked if they pull that bullshit from their 2011 tour where they played their new album front to fucking back though.

      • JimCroceLoverXEX

        not be

      • adamonfire

None, Perry’s voice is shot and just like Myles and Axel the new kid sounds like the original did 25 years ago.

      • mYstic headlock

Yeah I would cop to being a fan. I don’t own any albums or anything but they got some classic jams. I feel like you’d really be hard pressed to find people that were fervently anti-Journey.

Steve Miller Band, though. If I went to that show I’d be vomiting for 90 minutes. God that guy sucks.

      • Porpoise Orifice

        How? Why?!
Humor me and give this a shot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJfM8ZhHaqs
That entire “Fly Like an Eagle” album is such a treat.

  • JimCroceLoverXEX

That Quiet Riot/Faster Pussycat tour would be the saddest Werner Herzog documentary ever

    • Stereotypical Evil Archer

Fuck off, Quiet Riot is awesome. Actually, maybe I should fuck off for saying that. Yes, I’m fucking off right now.

      • JimCroceLoverXEX

I dig Quiet Riot but their singer from their days of relevancy od’d a few years back and they replaced him with a man named Jizzy Pearl who has sung for RATT and one of the L.A. Guns as fill-ins for the singers people actually remember.

As for Faster Pussycat who were the opening band for seemingly every glam tour ever this is the most entertaining thing they’ve ever done.

      • WURST

I was just about to ask who replaced DuBrow in QR.

    • 2Ready2Jiggle

Oddly enough, it makes me feel kinda sad for Gilby Clarke. Can’t Axl take him back already? He could use a fourth guitarist, right? Hell, how about a Rock Star Supernova reunion? Wait, no. Fuck that shit.

  • WURST

University double-blind studies have shown that Quiet Riot has always sucked.

    • JimCroceLoverXEX

That’s because college is just liberal brainwashing or at least that’s what my co-workers who’ve never stepped foot on a college campus think.
