Nonpoint Confirm Producer For New Album

Nonpoint have confirmed that producer Johnny K (Disturbed, Staind) will be helming their new album, which they are due to officially begin tracking at Chicago, IL’s Groovemaster Recording Studio next week. Pre-production for the outing was recently completed at the aforementioned studio. A fall release date is being scheduled with frontman Elias Soriano offering:

“It’s great to be back in the studio with Johnny K. After the last record turned out so awesome, the way we saw it, why fix what ain’t broke? Preproduction has gone smoothly and the songs luckily didn’t seem to need a lot of work.

So we’re gonna get some ridiculous tones, play and sing our hearts out. We are going to have as much fun as we can doing it so hopefully that translates to the music.”

    • How does a band like this, who lets be honest underperforms sales-wise every album:

      a) continue to have a label home
      b) afford a producer like Johnny K (who prob commands at least $50k per album)

I can only assume in 2014 record labels and producers are desperate for business and will work for less. I stopped being excited for this band after To The Pain. Actually Recoil, but TTP was surprisingly good.

    • This band is amazing. They Fuc%$# ROCK the house. I just started following them about 6 years ago and have not been disappointed once. They have so much energy at the shows the crowd goes crazy. Check them out you wont be disappointed.

Again with a flock of strangers coming in to support an otherwise fucked out band… I’d love to see what must be a sharp traffic spike for ThePRP.

OK, this statement (see what I did there?) is clearly nostalgia over reality. If not for the existence of Vengeance and Miracle, Development would hold the title for the worst Nonpoint album of them all. A couple of good songs surrounded by middle-of-the-road nothingness.

I’m actually looking forward to this. Their self-titled had a few duds, but it was a step in the right direction. Johnny K captured their sound really well and the new line-up is a breath of fresh air. I know, washed-up nu-metal, blah blah blah, but these guys are actually a *real* band, unlike Orgy. They tour, record and, you know, do things that an actual band does.
